Out of office!

Today is the last day of work for the conference secretariat and before we head to our summer vacation, we would like to use this opportunity to thank each of you for making the WCSJ2013 such an amazing experience! We are left with a bitter sweet feeling now that the conference is over. Organising the WCSJ2013 has required a lot of hard work, but we have immensely enjoyed getting to know so many journalists from all over the world and the continuous support we have received has been heart-warming.

We would like to thank all of the speakers and producers for making the conference programme so intriguing! The complaint that we heard most often from the delegates was “you have made it impossible to choose which session to go to when there are so many excellent ones”. Also, we would like to thank the conference vice-president Reetta Kettunen for all her hard work in putting together this wonderful programme!

The conference would not have been possible without the significant support from our sponsors and we are truly grateful for their help in organizing the WCSJ2013. Therefore, we would like to warmly thank all of our supporters.

The volunteers were also vital in ensuring that everything went according to plan during the conference week so again, thank you! You and your orange t-shirts often brightened the day for us.

We would also like to thank Jari Mäkinen for his brilliant newsletters, Anu Kytölä for handling the press office and Kimmo Wilska for proofreading the texts. We are also very grateful for the help that we got from all the committees.

Satu Lipponen and Vesa Niinikangas cannot be thanked enough for everything that they have done for the conference. The success of WCSJ2013 would not h

ave been possible without the incredible strive that they have had in organising this conference!

Finally, we would like to thank all of the WCSJ2013 participants for the great conference, thank you for creating the inspiring atmosphere at the conference. We hope that you enjoyed the programme, networked with international colleagues and found new perspectives for your work!

Now it is time for the secretariat to turn off our computers and begin our summer vacation.
