Queues expected at Helsinki-Vantaa airport

Usually catching your flight at the Helsinki airport goes smoothly and takes less time than expected, but the summer holiday season is likely to create longer-than-usual lines at Helsinki-Vantaa airport, especially this weekend. 

Therefore the airport authority and Finnair are encouraging passengers to use online check-in services to cut down on queues at the airport and arrive to the airport earlier than usually. The Check-in and Baggage Drop desks are closed one hour before the departure time for the long haul flights and 45 minutes for the other flights. However, clearing the security procedures during peak times may take up to one hour; the busiest times are Friday afternoon and Saturday.
