WCSJ2013 will convene at the City Centre Campus of the University of Helsinki, the conference’s main domestic partner. The historical and architectural significance of the campus, as well as its location in the heart of the Finnish capital, make it an ideal venue.
The City Centre Campus is the administrative centre of the university, and the close-knit facilities form a functional whole, consisting not only of nationally valuable buildings, but also of facilities for 20,000 students and 3,000 teachers and other staff.
The University of Helsinki, founded in 1640, is one of the world ’s leading multidisciplinary research universities. The high-quality teaching and research generate new knowledge and expertise for the benefit of society at large, as well as the business sector. Involving itself in the resolution of global problems, the university wants to actively promote the well-being of humanity and a fair society.
The university’s research and educational goals focus on areas such as health and well-being, climate and environmental development and natural resources, as well as culture and society.
The criticalness and creativity of the university make it an exciting partner for the wcsj 2013, which aims to promote dialogue and sharing of information between science communication professionals and all those wanting to get involved with the conference.
The registration for the conference will take place at Porthania building. The conference sessions will be organized in both the Porthania Bulding and the University Main Building.
